License Types

Menu > Company Data > License Types

Use this page to manage or view the license types your company can use. Each license maintained in Determination must map to one of the configured license types.

Before using this page for the first time, please review Licenses.

Using the License Types Page

Use the License Types Field Reference below to manage license types tasks. This page has the following areas:

  • License Type List: View and select from a list of currently configured license types.
  • Selected License Type: Manage the selected license type or add a new one.

License Type List

The License Type List is the complete list of license types associated with this company, including those owned by its Custom Data Provider if appropriate.

When you select a license type from the list, the Selected License Type section is populated with the data related to that license type.

Selected License Type Tasks

You can use this section to create a new license type or modify or delete the selected license type. Only license types owned by your company can be modified or deleted.

Add a new license type

  1. Select Add from the Actions menu.
  2. Enter data using the field reference below.
  3. Click Submit to save your changes.

Modify a license type

  1. Select the item from the License Types list.
  2. Modify data using the field reference below.
  3. Click Submit to save your changes.

Delete a license type

Before you can delete a license type, you must delete any licenses using this license type, or modify them to use a different license type.

  1. Select the license type from the License Types list.
  2. Select Delete from the Actions menu.
  3. Click OK to confirm the deletion.

Export a license type

You can export the selected license types, or all license types owned by this company.

  1. Select Properties from the Actions menu.
  2. Click one of the following.
    • This License Type to export only the selected license type.
    • This License Type and All Siblings to export all license types owned by this company.
  3. Click Save.
  4. Browse to or enter a filename to save to and click Save.

Once you save the file, you can re-import it. See the Importing Data page.

Name

A name for the license type.

Default Days Valid

Opt.

The default term in days from the start date of a license associated with this license type.

If a value is entered in this field, the End Date Required checkbox is automatically selected.

Temp Days Valid

Opt.

The default term in days from the start date of a temporary license associated with this license type.

If a value is entered in this field, the End Date Required checkbox is automatically checked.

This field is informational and the data is not used in rule selection or calculation.

License Mask

Opt.

A mask to which any license number associated with this license type must conform. For information about valid mask formats, see Registration and License Formats.

Start Date

Y

The date (MM/DD/YYYY) on which the license type becomes active.

End Date

Opt.

The date (MM/DD/YYYY) on which the license type terminates. If blank, the license type remains effective indefinitely.

Description

Opt.

A description of this license type.

End Date Required

Opt.

If checked, indicates that a license associated with this license type must contain an end date.

License Number Required

Opt.

If checked, indicates that any license associated with this license type must include a license number. If unchecked, the license number is not required in the input XML.

Physical License Required

Opt.

If checked, a physical license is required to use this license type.

This field is informational and the data is not used in rule selection or calculation.
